WHAT IS JAPANESE KNOTWEED
Japanese Knotweed is a non-native, invasive perennial. It is fast growing and stem growth renews each year from creeping underground stems (rhizomes) to form strong clumps of tall dense annual stems.
Since 2014 it has been included in the Anti-social, Crime and policing act as being a form of anti-social behaviour and therefore its careful control and management is very important, including the disposal of any plant waste. If planning a house sale or purchase Japanese knotweed presence is an important consideration as it can result in sale not completing or misrepresentation claim post sale.
